Ryan Vander Zwaag
Pastor Ryan Vander Zwaag is the lead pastor at Hart FBC. Ryan, his wife Stacy and their four sons moved to Hart in January 2008 to serve as the youth pastor. While they were in Hart they adopted 2 young girls. Ryan served as the youth pastor until he became the lead pastor in August of 2020.
Ryan has a BS in Natural Resource Management from Grand Valley State University. He worked for the the local Conservation District and owned his own farm. All through his 20s he and Stay were volunteer youth leaders at their church in Zeeland, MI. God made it very clear that he needed to go back to college in his early 30s and he earned a Masters of Counseling and Theological studies from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.
His family was not looking to move away from Zeeland but God opened up a massive door for them to move to Hart. Ryan thoroughly enjoyed his years as the youth pastor serving alongside Pastor Mark Looman. When Pastor Mark retired the elder board approached Ryan to be the lead pastor.
Ryan loves his Lord and savior Jesus Christ and has a deep passion for practically teaching the Word of God. Ryan desires that Hart FBC will be know as a place that the gospel is preached and lived out among its people through the power of the Holy Spirit. Where its people use hospitality to reach into the lives of their neighbors to show and tell them about Jesus.
